Thanks a bunch! I love designing stuff like this based off Pokemon and other game characters like this. The slippers were hard to find, but once I did I was excited. All I had to do was paint the talons white. XD I still wear them at home a lot too!
I really appreciate your compliments! Though I did have help with the pattern and all of that, this was actually my first cosplay/sewing project. I'm sure someone else could do a better sewing job, or maybe I could replicate it (hopefully better quality) if anybody was actually interested in commissioning me, haha. Thank you very much. <3 & no problem.
Well, I will have a Misty cosplay done within the next few months, and a secret gijinka I'm working on designing as well. I know I'll have more photos by fall at the latest. ^^ I appreciate the support!
I think I did see an awesome Seaking, actually. But only once and I failed to get a photo. ;-; I actually really want to do a Gyarados one of these days, since he's my second favourite Pokemon. Sorry we never ran into each other at con.
s'all good, theres always next year! i'll have my gyarados by then. maybe even my second magikarp, as the first one is really only my prototype. yer ho-oh is awesome though! must have been interesting walking around with those feet
Absolutely wonderful! I love how you managed to create a pokemon I loved from back in the day (ohgod I only HAVE gold) and morphe it into this. <3 You paid so much attention to detail and colourschemes and they are all in the right places. What I respect the most are your 'paws' though. Those must've taken quite a bit of time, though the costume itself must have taken quite a bit of time in general. You should be proud of the outcome. I really really like it.
Awe, thank you so much! ;u; Your compliments are immensely flattering. Ho-Oh has always been one of my favourites as well (actually Ho-Oh is my favourite legendary after Mew). I made sure to pay attention to detail when designing it. Actually..the claws were the easiest bit! xD It was a bit of an annoyance to find the right slippers with just three claws and in black, but once I did, all I did was paint the claws white. >.> The dress itself took the most time since I've never really sewn anything before this, and I neglected to get a pattern. x.x
Thank you once again! <33 I'm so happy you do like it. ^^
D'awww, thank you so much! ;u; <3 I'll be bringing my Ho-Oh to Kumoricon as well as back to Sakuracon for any Pokemon shoots there may be, if I return to Sakura that is.
I appreciate your wonderful compliments though! & the bow was actually an accident, I was wearing it for a little while for the heck of it then I forgot to take it off. xD But it looks cute with the wig so I'm not complaining.
This looks amazing for your first sewing project. <: It's very accurate and detailed without being over the top. I love how you've done the design on the wings/arms (and for sleeves being as horrible as they are, you did a wonderful job~)
The contacts look like they were a pain though. D: But they really finish it off, 'specially with the intimidating stare. xD asdafa you just look so good in this cosplay, srsly, makes me want to make a Pokémon gijinka cosplay.
Oh, props to ~shi-shi for the wonderful photos too, they really help to show off the cosplay. c:
I'm so glad you think so. There are a lot of sloppy areas..but it was a difficult first sewing project. xD DEM WINGS/SLEEVES, man. Those were the worst part to do. I had help with a lot of major areas but I did most of it myself and that's why I'm happy (plus seeing my designs come to life is an awesome feeling <3).
The contacts were actually not too terrible, at least in good lighting/daylight. Overall, they felt a little funny and itchy, but only really when I payed attention to them. However, when I was in a dark room or it was dark outside, I could see little to nothing (due to them being 'block colour' contacts), and they felt like they were getting lost in my eyeballs. Though no harm was done. ^^ I wouldn't be able to look intimidating without them, honestly. xD You should totally do a gijinka cosplay!! <3 I'd love to see it. Any Pokemon in mind?
I know, right? ;u; She is a wonderful photographer. I'm so happy I got a shoot with her. ^^
